HGV Class 1 Driver

SureStaffing UK Ltd are looking to recruit for an HGV Class 1 Driver, for our client based in the Corby area. Our client provides luxury baked items for wholesale throughout the United Kingdom and Europe. This nationally recognised supplier of baked items is a market leader in the distribution of its products to a variety of clients.

Main Responsibilities and Duties for an HGV Class 1 driver

Working in a fast-paced distribution environment, this role involves being responsible for the vehicle upon collection and always ensuring the safe operation of the vehicle. Working to a defined run start time and location, this role will involve delivering the fresh produce on time and according to the transport schedule. The key attributes for this role include:

• Flexibility and Stability of work
• Availability for long term regular work in Corby
• Experience of ambient deliveries across the region preferred, but not essential.
• Friendly and approachable at all client site locations.
• Able to meet delivery times in line with transport schedules.
• Complete understanding of the working hours and regulations for HGV driving.

Requirements for an HGV Class 1 driver 

• Valid C+E driving license with no more than 6 points
• Minimum 2-year experience on UK roads
• CPS card and Digi card
• Excellent knowledge of the UK road network
• Good Timekeeping
• Customer care focused.
• Well presentenced

Pay rates and working hours for an HGC Class 1 driver

2 shifts available: morning and afternoon, weekdays, and weekends

• morning shift £16-£21 per hour
• afternoon shift £17-£22 per hour
• Premium offered for weekend work
